Japanese Sword Fittings

As with all aspects of Japanese culture, Sword fittings and their ornamented designs became an art form.

I have photographed large collections of Tsuba, Menuki, Kogai, Kozuka and Fuchi Kashira.

When photographing such fine detail on a small scale you need the right lighting a steady hand and above all lots of patience.
